Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Lisa (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Lisa mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable, anonymous user identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We use this to create your account and attach your captures to it across devices. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Device identifier
Before you sign in, the App generates a random device identifier stored on your device so we can associate captures you make with you. When you sign in, this identifier is linked to your account.
Captures and content
When you share a URL with the App (for example, an Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube post), we store the URL and read the publicly available contents of that post to identify the places mentioned in it. We may store information from the post — such as its title, description, and thumbnail — in our database so you can revisit and organize what you’ve saved.
Subscription and payment information
If you purchase a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple. We do not receive your credit card or payment details. We receive a transaction identifier and entitlement status through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) so we can verify your subscription and provide the features you paid for.
Usage analytics
We collect information about how you use the App — such as when you create an account, save a capture, reach a plan limit, or start a subscription — associated with your account identifier. We use this to understand how the App is used and to improve it. These events describe actions, not content: they do not include the contents of the posts you save.
Diagnostic information
We collect basic diagnostic information — such as error and crash reports — to identify and fix bugs and improve reliability. This does not include the content of your captures.
How we use information
- To operate the App and deliver the features you request
- To extract, organize, and display places from content you share
- To verify and manage your subscription
- To diagnose problems and improve the App
- To comply with legal obligations
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the App. Each is bound by their own privacy and security obligations, and only receives the information needed to perform their function on our behalf. These fall into the following categories:
- Authentication — to let you sign in securely.
- Infrastructure — hosting, database, file storage, and background processing for the App.
- Content processing — reading the public contents of URLs you share so we can identify mentioned places.
- Mapping — rendering maps and looking up information about identified places.
- Subscription management — verifying purchases and managing subscription status. Payments themselves are handled by Apple.
- Analytics — measuring how the App is used (for example, sign-ups and saves) so we can improve it.
- Diagnostics — collecting error reports to improve reliability.
We do not authorize any service provider to use information we share with them for their own marketing or unrelated purposes.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with third-party services only as needed to operate the App (as listed above) or when required by law.
Data retention
We retain your account and captures for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and captures from our active systems within a reasonable period, subject to limited backups and legal-retention obligations.
Your choices
- Hide captures or places. Use the in-app hide controls to remove items from your default views.
- Delete your account. Contact us at the email below to request account and data deletion.
- Manage your subscription. Manage or cancel any time from your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate.
